The 1930 PGA Championship Programme
Fresh Meadow Country Club, U.S.P.G.A, 1930. 64p. wrappers. Very hard to find programme from the 13th National PGA championship won by Tommy Armour.
Tommy Armour defeated Gene Sarazen in the championship match by a 1-up final score.... Armour led by a 1-up score following the morning 18, and it was all square after 27 holes. It remained all square as Armour, the "Silver Scot," and Sarazen, "the Squire," teed off on the 36th hole. Both golfers hit into a greenside bunker and both blasted out to the 10- to 12-foot range. Armour made his putt, Sarazen then missed, and the trophy was Armour's.... This was the second of Armour's three career wins in majors.... Leo Diegel, trying to win his third consecutive PGA Championship title, lost in the second round to Harold Sampson.
Some minor professional restoration work, making the programme now very solid and collectable. Item #14297
