First Edition. A cornerstone book for a golf library. The first book written by a playing golf professional and, thus, the forerunner of many books in which a champion would reveal the "secret" of his success. Park also includes important historical data on equipment, with an important chapter on course architecture. "In composing the chapter entitled 'Laying Out and Keeping Golf-Links,' Park became the first practising golf course architect to illuminate the theoretical and practical aspects of his design philosophy".
The first edition is an important work in the golf library, normally commanding a higher price, this first is a chance to own this title at a lower than average price. Good to fair, one and only library sticker applied to front board, could possibly be removed, 6 pages have some insect damage to around 1/2inch of paper, but not affecting text. Item #12179
