Complete run of the first thirty (whole number) volumes. Profusely illustrated from photographs, paintings, etc. throughout. With publisher's printed volume number titles at the front of each. 13x9½, weekly magazines, bound in the publisher's gilt-stamped red cloth, Vols. I-XXXX with a oval gilt portrait vignette of F.G. Tait on the front cover (who is pictured on the cover of the first issue - Vol. I, No. 1), all with the same style gilt lettering with golf ball vignettes, ruled in black. Rare and important early golfing magazines, handsomely bound by the publisher, containing all of the major reported historical events, interviews, results, stories and advertisements from the 1899 to 1906.
The first thirty volumes, seldom seen offered together in a single collection. Individually, these magazines are extremely difficult to obtain.
For a complete run like this, nothing comparable, as a research resource, documenting golfs first boom years.
Volume 28 has suffered some damp damage to early pages, otherwise all volumes complete, spines rather faded. Item #10489
