Locke played in his first Open in 1936 at the age of 18 he finished low amateur. He served in the Air force in the 2nd world war, then after went for 2 and a half years to the United states where he won 11 of the 59 tournaments he participated in, but a dispute over playing commitments he was banned from the PGA tour, where he returned to the United Kingdom, and amongst his further 23 wins 4 Opens came his way. He played all his shots with a draw/hook spin including his putts.
Scarce signed copy, signed and inscribed "Best Wishes Bobby Locke 1961" Additinally signed by the 1951 Open Champion Max Faulkner, and Ryder Cup players Ken Bousfield and Dave Thomas. Unique attractive copy. Very good. Item #9742
