Golf Course Architect, Leeds: Advisor to The Royal and Ancient St. Andrews, Prestwick, Troon, and Over 300 Other Golf Clubs

London: Moor Allerton Lodge, Leeds, 1923. 4 pp. brochure. One sheet of paper folded (6¼x4). This scarce piece of ephemera documents the severing of Messrs. Colt, Mackenzie & Alison golf architecture firm, and announces the continuing of MacKenzie's independent practice. In 1923, MacKenzie was hired by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club to review the Old Course. Within is a short list of premier courses he designed. The final page has three blurbs praising his work, one of which is from Bernard Darwin commenting on his ability to transform dull land into a beautiful course or, making "a silk purse out of a sow's ear." very good.
