Campbell was the great-grandson of Robert Chambers and involved in laying out the courses at Deal, Rye and Killarney, among others. This book is a celebration of the remodelling of the two courses following extensive damage caused by coastal defences and enemy action during the war.
Gene Sarazen won the 1932 Open Championship at Royal Cinque Ports (commonly known as Deal) and when the prevailing wind is up, a more demanding finishing four holes are difficult to find.
