Collecting aspects

This and its sub pages came about from our own and the experiences of many other collectors, trying to put some organisation and concept to collecting golf books and related items, with a goal of making collecting even more enjoyable.

With over 15,000 English language printed titles on the game plus various magazines, programmes etc. it is wise to think a little about what your interests are and try to collect accordingly.

In the navigation bar are 14 aspects that we believe to be interesting themes for a collection. They cover in one way or another almost all the popular aspects to a golf collection. Inside each aspect we have tried to give some ideas for the basis of a collection and have also made a short list of titles that could be collected.

As a collector develops ideas and finds direction, condition often becomes a major factor.

First or if issued limited editions are generally the collectors target, books in there original binding, signed and when issued with dust jackets are of more desire.

From an investment point of view these factors will always be in demand and increase the books value more rapidly. For example Bernard Darwin’s “Out of the Rough” will sell for around £50.00 without and with a jacket £500.00

We have written these sides in the hope to give the collector some ideas and if it has managed to increase the knowledge or sparked an idea of anyone reading them, by any amount then it has been a worthwhile project. Any feedback is always welcome. contact
